Calling film fans and FIJI Water enthusiasts in Australia! We heard your requests, and we are happy to announce our first international ticket giveaway. FIJI Water has partnered with Moonlight Cinema, the premiere outdoor movie theater showing classic, cult, and newly released films in select cities throughout Australia. If you live in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, or Brisbane, you might soon be enjoying a night of film under the stars. We are offering 260 Moonlight Cinema vouchers, which are valid at all locations and for any films throughout the summer of 2009/2010. The only exceptions are films on the “no free” list or any film screened on February 14, 2010.

Beginning February 6, 2010, FIJI Water will be stationed at Moonlight Cinema locations on selected evenings, offering samples of our artesian water — the natural complement to any theater snack.

FIJI Water's Fall 2009 Fashion Week interns

We carefully read through all the entries we received on our blog and narrowed our choices down to seven fabulous fashionistas, who have submitted videos of themselves answering these questions:

1. If Fashion Week were an island and you could take only three things with you, what would they be and why?
2. If you were a pair of shoes, which pair of shoes would you be and why?
3. If you were to attend a premiere Fashion Week party, what would you wear and why?

Now it’s up to you to vote for your favorite intern candidate. Voting starts Jan. 22, 2010 (now!), and ends 11:59 p.m., Jan 28, 2010. Please remember that only the votes on our poll below are counted. Ratings and comments on YouTube do not count. Official interns will be announced on or around Feb. 1, 2010. A soldier palletizes water to be air-dropped in Haiti.

After a week of urgent calls and logistical hurdles, FIJI Water is now able to donate more than 136,000 liters of water to the victims of the earthquakes in Haiti. Given the disrupted infrastructure throughout the country, our biggest challenge was coordinating the transportation of the much-needed water. Thanks to the United States Military, specifically the Fort Bragg base in North Carolina, we are now assured that the water will reach those who need it so desperately.

When Fort Bragg’s chief of supply called to offer transportation for our water, we jumped at the opportunity. Within 48 hours, eight trucks carrying 150 pallets of FIJI Water arrived at Fort Bragg. The water is being prepared for shipment now; it will be air-dropped and marked “For Humanitarian Aid Only” — which means the water will go directly to the people of Haiti.

We’d like to give a special thanks to the dedicated U.S. Military officers for their time and support.

We are also working on donating water and have been researching how to both transport and distribute it as quickly as possible. We are coordinating with various organizations on the ground in Haiti and have offered product as soon as they are able to accept it. We will post updates on our progress as we receive more information.

Our Fashion Week interns will also receive a year of FIJI Water home delivery.

• January 15, 2010: We’ll choose the final eight (8) candidates, who will show off their style and swag in their very own video, along with answering three (3) specific questions from our FIJI Water Events team.

• (On or around) February 1, 2010:  We’ll tally up the votes and announce our Fashion Week interns.

No, your computer monitor settings haven’t gone wonky. This stretched-out art piece — Evan Penny’s “Female Stretched” — was created that way. We also heard that it sold for $300,000 on opening day.

David LaChappelle’s “Archangel Michael” at Art Basel, Miami Beach

Lastly, this tribute piece was created by David LaChapelle, celebrity photographer and artist. It’s called “Archangel Michael” and isn’t a real picture of Jackson but of a lookalike.

We were thrilled to be part of this esteemed event and look forward to next year.

There will be 25 bakers at the event, showing off their most delectable cookies. A panel of celebrity bakers and chefs will also be judging and tasting, including Gina DePalma from Babbot; Myriam Eberhardt from DBGB Kitchen & Bar; Nichelle Stephens, Co-Editor of Cupcakes Take the Cake; and Sue Torres from Suenos. The winner will receive a “Baker’s Basket” of amazing kitchen goodies valued at more than $600, donated from Whole Foods Market, Russ and Daughters, Ghirardelli Chocolate, King Arthur Flour, Mionetto Prosecco, and, of course, FIJI Water.

Tickets are available online at The Girls Club website, or at the door. The organization aims to help girls and young women from the ages of 8-23, grow, learn, have fun, and develop the confidence in themselves to make a difference in the world.
