I’m fun, outgoing, and an overall dedicated hard worker. I’m the type of person that will do whatever it takes to get the job done successfully. If that means all nighters, bags under the eyes, and broken nails…i’ll do it. I love working various events where the stress is at an all time high. I feel that moments like that teach an individual more in a short period of time then a position with no stress over a course of a few months. I have the talent, passion, and flair to offer for this internship and feel that I could do a great job by giving my all. So please consider me for the Internship position.
Thanks,
Pia

I take a sip of my bottle of FIJI Natural Artesian Water and let out a breath of satisfaction: purity. Because FIJI advocates uncompromised and uncontaminated artesian water, its representation during Fashion Week requires the most energetic, assiduous, and natural people at best. I should be one of FIJI”s top intern candidates for these reasons. I graduated with a BA Degree in Advertising-Public Relations, so this opportunity would be ideal for someone striving to break into the advertising industry. My personality reflects thriving on stress and intense, stressful situations. Throughout my academic career, I always kept myself consistently active, engaging myself with multiple organizations and taking part in as many diverse experiences as possible. The back-to-back daily schedule is what I live for, the only way I can live. People know me for my energy because I am seen constantly running around as if sleep was never an option. Being assiduous is also a work ethic I advocate. The ideal FIJI Fashion Week intern is expected to be dependable and diligent, executing all tasks that are requested and to solve any problems that are presented. Time is crucial during this event and therefore being hard-working is mandatory. Lastly, interns representing FIJI should exemplify naturalism. This means natural beauty and a natural personality. I would be the ideal intern to represent FIJI because I convey myself as refreshing and natural. My appearance proves I am easily approachable and my natural charisma will be able to speak to guests in the way FIJI would want all representatives to act. Overall, I believe I qualify as the ideal FIJI Fashion Week intern for these reasons. I represent the meaning of “natural” and also consider myself a hard worker, deserving of this opportunity.

Fashion week is a tough week for all those involved and I predict this year will be no different. I for one will make sure to help Fiji water be known throughout the entire week. I will treat the product with respect and also show how refreshing it can be and I will work hard to make that happen. Everyone from the models to the clean up crew will … Read Morebe will be needing that refreshing taste that only Fiji water can deliver. I will also not take this opportunity for granted and will try to enjoy every moment that comes along. This would be a week to remember for all time; and a year of Fiji home delivery isn”t bad either. Fiji water along with myself, if I am so fortunate, will try to help deliver many exciting moments on the catwalk to help make this years Fashion Week a success.

Fashion week & Go Green Fiji? Now that’s my idea of a good time! Hello all, My name is Janet and I live in one of the greatest cities in the world-aka NYC! Fashion and being healthy rolled up in one week? What more can a girl ask for? I live and breathe this! I won’t claim to be the most hardworking or talented individual, but I am definitely tasteful. I think my greatest strength lies in my ability to process and learn. Of course, the ideal candidate should be smart, dependable, professional, but above all, it is someone who is VIBRANT and PASSIONATE. With this, I end with a quote from Grey’s Anatomy edited by me: OK, Here it is. Your choice, it’s simple. Her or me. And I’m sure she’s really great. But FIJI…I love you. In a really, really big…hate all the other beverages big. Recycle daily. Buy only FIJI (what else?), even if it costs more. Unfortunate way that also makes me hate you…love you. So pick me. Choose me. Love me. I’ll be waiting…so if you do decide…to pick me..email me.

As a young woman with a passion for fashion and several years experience working as a product educator for a promotions company I believe I am an excellent candidate for the New York Fashion Week internship.
I enjoy FIJI Water and know that it is so “much more pure and much more healthier than other bottled waters,” this makes the task of informing the fashion shows” participants and guests
the importance of FIJI Water in fashion week natural and sincere.
From working long retail hours as both a visual intern and associate, while attending school full time I have the drive and determination to do any tasks given to me. Even though it is difficult being a recent college graduate during the recession I have not given up or decided to compromise my goals of being involved in the fashion industry; if anything it has made me work harder to pursue them. Come October, I will be taking classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology towards
a Fashion Event Planning Certificate, so the opportunity of being
behind-the-scenes with such an established brand, FIJI, at one of the planet’s most celebrated fashion events would be a dream come true and the ultimate learning experience a girl could ever ask for.

Coco Chanel said that “Success is often achieved by those who don’t know that failure is inevitable”. Though I know there is always a chance of failure, I believe that acting as if you can’t fail, no matter how many times you do, is what builds a stronger character and is what will eventually get you to your beginning goal or dream. My personal dream, for as long as I can remember, has been to be in the fashion world. When I was a ten year old getting ready to go to camp, i would literally sit down the week before and draw out all the outfits I wanted to wear while at camp. Now, being a graduate from BGSU with a Degree in Apparel Merchandising and a Minor in Marketing, i find myself striving for an entry way to become a retail buyer. I am extremely hard-working, always holding at least two jobs at a time, and I can promise that work ethic would continue all week in NYC. I realize some people think that this opportunity would be neat and fun or some might think it would help them get a job, but I absolutely believe that this opportunity could be the first step towards reaching my DREAM! I would be eternally grateful if I was presented with this opportunity. Since graduation I have been searching for someone to give me a chance to prove myself, or an amazing opportunity such as this one to begin on the path that will ultimately lead me to my dream, which I believe is also my destiny. To be a part of an event which I have admired which showcases the industry I strive to be a part of would be utterly memorable and optimistically life altering.

As a fashion merchandising college graduate and a few years experience in fashion sales, I believe I would be the ideal candidate to help promote why Fiji Water is a fashionista’s must-have during fashion week. Having worked behind the scenes for a previous Merdedes Benz Fashion Week, I’ve witnessed first hand the hectic schedule and non-stop action that is involved in the success of one of the world’s most prestigious fashion shows. I know that their is no better water out there to help keep the fashion industry’s most influential designers and sort after models refreshed than Fiji Water. I would be honored to take a part in this event as a representative of Fiji Water.

It would be my pleasure to deliver an unprecedented Fiji Water branded entertainment experience to the fashion and beauty elite during IMG Fashion Week 2009. As a media relations strategist with five years of event and brand management experience in the beauty industry, I have aimed to work live at Fashion Week for as long as I can remember. I am thrilled that this tangible goal can be realized through the experts at Fiji Water who have provided this unprecedented opportunity for a few up and coming event superstars.
This year, my goal is more relevant than ever before. For the past three months, I have worked on developing a beauty industry leadership development event aimed at empowering the fashion, beauty, and media leaders of tomorrow. This year’s theme, centered on leveraging creativity in fashion, will showcase a collection of key players across the fashion creative bench, bringing a photoshoot to life and educating 150+ select young women on how to utilize styling, artistry, makeup tools, photography, and other essential elements to deliver the perfect advertisement for a fashion or beauty campaign. These key learnings delivered at the national level will be taken home from attendees to implement regionally through grassroots-driven leadership campaigns and executions. In this regard, it would be my pleasure to integrate the vignettes from my time as a Fiji Water team member at Fashion Week into my panel engagement at the event, which will be delivered as a webcast across digital platforms, integrated channels, and key media properties and delivered to beauty-driven sponsors/partners/collaborators. The event is set to showcase the Artists and Creatives agency, fashion and media notables, an alliance of niche cosmetics brands, and an international roster of beauty and fashion photographers and stylists. Key to this exhibit will be developing a provocative Fashion Week story, delivering penetrating insights on the sentiments reflected in makeup artistry and fashion on the runway in the mist of the nation’s recession and dip in luxury spending as consumers trade down and conserve their resources. What I would like to do is develop the vision and content of the event one step further to showcase a holistic lifestyle brand such as Fiji Water and how it is able to penetrate the space of the world’s key style influencers as the ultimate beverage for Fashion Week.
Thank you for your consideration and for providing a memorable opportunity. All the best to everyone and I look forward to connecting.

Fashion week is me Fiji, I am 20 years old, I started painting t-shirts on the streets of California, Chicago, Alaska, and etc. I was struggling through hard situations at a young age, and I thought my life was seriously ending, with all the problems occurring. I am a young individual who has pushed through run away, foster care, and almost homeless. I am now blessed to have a private business investor helping me get fully established and ready for the industry. I stay focused on what I love in life and I simply create styles that are fun, fresh, and something for everybody. My taste for fashion is all over the board, my style is very urban, but can’t be described. I feel that I can give Fiji a Zing to the urban side, in regards to fashion week. Since day one, I have been trying to network, and gain as many connections as possible. I am the definition of Guerrilla marketing. If you gave me the chance to represent the bran Fiji, I would greatly take full action and get what needs to get done. I appreciate this wonderful chance to affiliate with Fiji, take care, and thank you for your time.

Moving 3,000 miles away from all of your loved ones in order to achieve a dream takes courage, hard work, and a tasteful or classy personality.
After graduating college with a degree in Marketing I was determined to follow my passion and set my sights on a Master”s Degree in Fashion Merchandising and Management from Polimoda, a prestigious Italian school.
Within months I traded in my stability for a year in Italy and the unknown. After graduating, I was ready for the next big step and instantly moved to NYC, sight unseen. Although the Big Apple threatened to “eat me alive” I stayed true to myself and worked hard to get what I came for. I quickly found a boutique management position. It wasn”t ideal, but at least it was fashion. I tried my best to offer new and innovative ideas and show my tactfulness to the company, but I was laid-off after only six months of work.
Since being laid-off, I have done everything in my ability to try to get my foot back in the door. After interning for free, working freelance and applying to jobs I have been unsuccessful in finding a new and rewarding career. I can honestly say that my time in NYC and within the fashion industry has tested my character and my will to achieve my goals. With that said, I can promise you I have continued to stay an honest and hard worker through out it all. I can also assure you that I will bring that hard working, excited, genuine attitude to the tents at Bryan Park this September. An opportunity to work with FIJI is not only an amazing opportunity to further my career, but also a much needed moral boost to continue fighting for what I really loveÖfashion.

Through my internships with CNN (New York), Ocean Drive magazine (Miami) Alonzo Mourning Charities (Miami), and the Truth Campaign with Golin/Harris International, I have learned more than the average college student about corporate, financial, real estate, media and public affairs. I have acquired a sophisticated repertoire of skills, from conducting research to writing press and media releases, creating pitches for potential new launches in print and television, launching restaurant openings, working directly with socialites & celebrities at
events such as Danny Devito”s Restaurant opening to the CNN Heroes award show in Los Angeles. I also have experience in media tours, corporate and red-carpet events.
With a degree in English from the University of Florida, I have
excellent oral and written communications skills and an extensive knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Through my strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work well with others, I am eager to share my strengths and know I will not disappoint FIJI Water at Fashion Week.

I strongly believe that I will be the perfect candidate for this fabulous opportunity because I dream of being the world’s renowned fashion designer. I showcased my garments on several runways with my ecstatic and magnificent designs. I’ve worked diligently with sleep-less nights to make many garments to be shown to people for a couple of minutes. But this time around, I want to intern with people that enjoys fashion as much as I do. Also, I would like to think of this great opportunity as a huge reward for my 6 long and hard years in the fashion industry. The fashion industry is very competitive but I won”t let competition get to me; being a Fashion Week intern is one step higher to becoming the world”s renowned fashion designer. If I get inside scoops on how these incredible designers put on a great show, I wouldn”t want anything more than this internship. Not only will get I get information behind-the-scenes, but I”ll be able to use my communication skills will fashionable people and network with designers, models, fashion magazine editors, and etc. I know I am capable of being one of the six interns this year because of the knowledge I already have and the amount of time I will put as being a Fashion Week intern.

FIJI is one of the few brands refined enough to deserve a place at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. With its subtle yet tasteful style, it is the epitome of what is “in” and shows no signs of backing down. As a second year Fashion Merchandising Management major at the Fashion Institute of Technology I am thrilled at the opportunity to put all that I have learned into practice and gain valuable experience in my given field. I’d like to believe that my current position is the sum of all my hard work, dedication, and perfectionist attitude that make me deserving of this position. However, I also understand the importance of networking and first impressions. It’s not only what you know, but who. I think that I would be able to represent FIJI in a manner befitting a trendsetting company. After volunteering at the Bailey House Auction I have gotten a taste of what is to be expected at events such as these and hope to be given a chance to prove myself again. This could be a life changing and career making opportunity that I aspire to partake in. Thank you for your time.

My name is Alexander Garza and I’m a contemporary lifestyle and wedding photographer from Houston, Texas. Why do I want to be an intern for FIJI’s NYC’s Fashion Week? I want to be an intern because I believe in opportunities. Opportunities like this don’t come knocking everyday and I want be part of the experience. On a hot Houston day shoot, nothing makes my day better then a very cold bottle of FIJI water. Not only do I feel replenished but also my clients. So you see, if FIJI in a small way can make my experience on a photo shoot better, you can imagine how it’s going to help during fashion week.
In addition to helping FIJI, I would like use the opportunity to network and meet men and women that can help take my photography name to the next level. New York is the capital of fashion photography and as a photographer I would love to be a part of all the behind the scenes madness, that is “Fashion Week”.
Thank you for the opportunity to let me enter into this contest and thank you for taking a moment to read my story. Help me seize this moment and follow my path along the way.

I’m a 17 year old senior with huge aspirations. I dream of working in fashion PR one day, and I’ve been looking for an internship all summer long. I know that I lack the experience that other applicants have because obviously, they’ve been around longer. I’ve never worked in fashion, nor retail, and I certainly haven’t had the internships other applicants might’ve have. I do know though, that I have so much drive, and such a passion for fashion. I know my designers and their pieces. I don’t only look at fashion like stunning clothing, I see it as an amazing and different piece of art, not like what you’d see in a painting. I would go far and beyond for and during the internship. I know I would give it my all and try to take in as much. I’m not looking for experience on a resume or a chance to see celebs. I want this internship so I can learn and take it all in, there’s so much to see and experience. I know I can put in the time and give my blood, sweat, and tears for this internship. It’s more of a perfect dream, then an internship.

Fashion week in New York is one of the most crucial weeks in the fashion world’s calendar. It is a stressful time where perfection has to walk the runways. In order to create fantastic shows, a team of talented women and men must work incessantly to create the image of an effortless show. I would be a great asset to this team. I am hardworking and demand the perfection that is mandatory for creating an amazing show. I am able to multi-task and take directions while also working on a team. Hi my is Elizabeth , I have just successfully graduated from a designing school in New York, from Fashion Design and Merchandising course, in June 2009. The reason I had decided to take this chance and, pursue my dreams to enroll in a fashion course, is because I was always creative and talented, especially in styling and designing. Fashion has always been my passion. I had the opportunity to utilize my skills and intern as a designer”s assistance. The experience was great, and I learned so much, especially working as a team player and developing an apparel collection. I would love to have the opportunity and the experience in working on fashion week. I feel that I am great advocate for the intern position at fashion week, because during the 2 years of my fashion course, it was not easy, the classes were difficult, however I am a hard dedicated worker and never gave up .I gave it my all and worked really hard, not only to show that I am talented in addition, this is my passion. The hard work paid off, because I was recognized for doing a fabulous job on all of my projects. I am artistic, creative and talented, and have many fresh ideas to bring to the table in addition, very committed to my job. I am ready to take my skills to the next level; however working in fashion week would inspire me more to continue to go after my dreams and goals. Fashion week has always been a dream and experience; I always hope that to be part of one day. I hope that you consider me for this intern position. Besides, Fiji is the best fresh water that I”ve ever had, and I wouldn”t give it up for any other, and that is the honest truth.

I am a native New York City girl with a passion for fashion! I was born in Queens and currently reside on Long Island but my heart is truly in Manhattan. I obtained a fashion merchandising degree from Johnson & Wales University. Since graduating in May 2008, I have held sales professional positions at many high end retailers such as, Lord & Taylor, Victoria”s Secret, and am currently employed at Bloomingdales. I am exceedingly people oriented, fashion minded, and have excellent organizational skills.
I attended Fashion Week in New York City for the first time last year and was in awe with the designers, runway shows, and creative energy. This experience made me realize that fashion is my true passion. I am striving hard to achieve my goal as a fashion consultant. I have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and provide personal shopping services for many clients.
Along with passion, I have an eye for fashion. My family and friends often ask me to help them choose outfits and accessories. I love helping them and seeing how happy they are with the results. This inspires me to work harder and pursue my career in fashion.
Fiji Water is the most tasteful, healthy water on earth. I would be honored to represent Fiji Water at Fashion Week. Choose me and I will be the “A to Z” Fashionista at your service!

I don’t want to be like everyone else. Sometimes I want to be exotic. Sometimes I want to be different. Sometimes I get this feeling that there’s something distinct that I need to be able to go on with my day- sometimes it’s fashion. Other times it’s Fiji. It’s like fashion week. On the runway there are no cliches, no banal displays, nothing unoriginal. I first fell in love with the runway in fifth grade. My family had gotten cable for the first time and flipping through our new selection of channels I found The Runway Channel. It was like nothing I had ever seen. The models were all so tall and beautiful with smooth skin and graceful bone structures, the silk gowns flowed as if they were not fabric but rather, Fiji water molecules transcending gravity, and the designers look at the end of the show was one of inextricable pride. At that moment I knew I was destined to be apart of it. I had become addicted. I still am addicted. In my final year at Staten Island Technical High School, I hope to start a new chapter that will help me pursue my dream of holding a career in fashion. I currently write for my own blog runway2realway.blogspot.com and I am an editor of my school newspaper The Tech Horizon. My passion for the fashion industry will be a driving force in enabling me to do the best possible job for New York’s fashion week this year.

I have already done the whole shibang High school done….college….done and now I’m in the real world working in an office trying to submerge my fashion sense into a gray cubicle. This opportunity was made for me to express my leadership skills which are so cleverly hidden by my management team and express creativity better than crayola could ever imagine. I would be great for this inter position, because I work my best under pressure, love to only take fashion advice and learn from the experts. I have so much energy on a everyday basis, Fiji needs someone who is great when it comes to representing a logo or company. Most important, fashion is my life. A few friends and I live here in NYC and feel like we are the cast of sex and the city when it comes to fashion.
I have traveled all around the world while in the US NAVY, and have become a fashionista even more since. I would love this chance to be an intern for the experiance, so that one day I can have my own label and use these lessons for my own business. Thank you so much for this opportunity!

I would be absolutely honored to be considered into interning for the New York Fashion Week internship! I am a true Montrealer who adores all things fashion related who has previously worked with a local designer and would love to expand her fashion horizons by taking part in excitement of the NYC fashion scene. I have produced a fashion show for Montreal fashion week and would absolutely LOVE to be able to compare and relate to the same scene on more of an international level. Fashion is my absolute passion, something I will do anything for to live out my dreams of working later on with a fashion publication company. I own a fashion blog and dedicate a part of my every day to updating and living in the fashion moment! “Leave New York without an offer? That was never a possibility, SarahÖ.”
“When you speak about fashion, you mesmerize with your words, making everyone crave the capability to emulate your love. When they hear you, they cannot live without what you possess. You inspire your audience to find what lights their world on fire.
For those in the Industry, you reinvent the mindless day-in and day-out dance, reuniting everyone you contact with the love affair that brought them to fashion. They can feel the hunger that quakes within you. I know passionate people, but your vivacity is unmistakable. ”
- An incredible co-worker and friend before an interview with Saks Fifth Avenue for a Summer 2009 internship.
I should not be selected because of my six years in luxury retail, my internships with Nanette Lepore or Saks Fifth Avenue, or even my experiences as an assistant buyer, a fashion web coordinator or a fashion website stylist. I should not be selected because I am relentlessly hard working, ruthlessly determined, or undeniably committed. It is not even my resourcefulness, perfectionism or ability to problem solve that sets me apart. My greatest gift is also my greatest blessing: my passion.
I should be chosen for the New York Fashion Week Internship because of my ability to utilize this passion to inspire my teammates. If given this opportunity, I assure you that I will invigorate every ounce of enthusiasm in the FIJI team. This radiance of both desire and positivity will be impenetrable to the chaos of Fashion Week, only further fueling my commitment to your brand. I will also sync and harmonize our team”s love of Fashion. This unification of passion will drive us to collectively accomplish our goal and achieve an unparalleled success, both for our team and for the FIJI brand.

Meet the gift & the curse . … … ..
I feel like ive always had a gift but was always fighting a curse when trying to reach my gift.
I have a huge passion for Fashion & I know that I would shine once givin the proper opportunity.
I believe that I would be able to actually make an impression on fashion week and represent way more than just a volunteer.
I represent a younger new generation, a generation that is hungry to create and enforce change.
We are the new and the hot, the trendy and the classic.
I would be the best candidate for this exciting opportunity.
If you would like to send someone who is passionate about the fashion world and wants to leave his mark, than you’ve met the perfect one.

I believe I am a representation of fashiOn because I am always changing even though I remain me in a tasteful way.
Which is what fashion is.
Im from NY but I currently live in Miami.
What ive noticed as long as ive been here is that Im always what is about to be new.
Everytime I step into the world I always catch the eyes of diff age groups, race & genders.
Something about my personal style & soul appeals to everyone and anyone no matter what their into.
But that is something I make sure is available to anyone & everyone. I give myself to the world and express myself for the world everyday.
I work for fashion & I’m proud of it. I deserve a chance to be put in the enviornment of a huge platform in NYC.
I’ve been working as a fashion stylist independently and setting up my own gigs.
I’ve been working hard to balance everything in my life & still give my heart to Fashion. I try hard to meet the best models and photographers, so we can collaborate and create amazing images.
But its so slow these days I haven’t had the chance to do it as big as I dream and meet the right connections.
I deserve a chance to get to meet the right people in the industry.
I deserve a chance because I represent the people & the future.

Some people find stress unbearable as it hinders their ability to accomplish their work. I, on the other hand, crave the stress and high intensity of the fashion world and use it as a tool to push me to perform well. Especially in fashion, things are done in a very particular way and I settle for nothing less than the best. Unfortunately I have yet to find an opportunity in my current situation as a student in a community college in Northern Virginia, especially fitting to my desire to work in the fashion industry. However, my background in retail has served me well particularly working at Kate Spade. My main duty as a sales associate was to be welcoming to customers and provide outstanding customer service to guests individually. Combined with my vast knowledge of the brand and product I was able to turn over great sales and personal relationships with customers who frequented the store. If allowed to work with Fiji Water at the 2009 Mercedes- Benz Fashion Week, I can promise a driven and persistent work ethic. In addition, I can guarantee a positive attitude and warm personality capable of engaging with people about how Fiji Water is essential for health and mind in such a fast-paced environment.

Hello! I’m Sunnie. I would love to be an intern at New York Fashion Week 2009 because I love fashion. Fashion is my life. I’m so very passionate about fashion. I’m a very fun person, I’m very dedicated, and I’m a people person. I realize the stress that comes working in the fashion industry but I am up for the challenge 24/7. I follow direction very well and I move fast. I think this oppurtunity would very beneficial to me as my goal in life is to become a fashion designer. The fashion world is an amazing one and I will be a part of it in any way possible. Coming from St. Louis, where resources are limited, I feel this would be an awesome experience. I would also like to add in closing that I am a very avid Fiji water drinker. No other water can compare. If was to be honored with this oppurtunity, you could always find me with a Fiji water in hand.
Thanks for your time. You may email me at: dontworriboutmee@yahoo.com

My name is Diana Blair. I am a recent graduate with a diploma and a dream. I graduated with a dual degree in Communications and Social Psychology, and have been jumping in head first into jobs in the fashion world ever since. I have a passion for all forms of art, and fashion is a beautiful form of expression. I am from St. Louis, MO and have participated in local fashion weeks behind the scenes in marketing and event promo positions and even hopped on the runway as a fashion model in some showcases. I am versatile, love the fast paced changing environment of the fashion world and would be ecstatic about coming to the big city to participate this year. What a wonderful way to experience the big city for the first time. FIJI Natural Artesian Water is a brand I am more than familiar with, it is my drink of choice. I love water, and always refer to it as nature”s finest. Haven”t ordered a soda out a restaurant in years, and always prefer Mother Nature”s recommendation to any corn syrup caffeinated drink. FIJI is honestly the most notable brand, and is recognizable through packaging, and a pure taste. I ALREADY have pictures on hand of myself holding FIJI water which is hilarious, because who takes pictures with water for no reason? I do ? I love it; it keeps the skin supple and youthful, and is the healthiest drink you will come across. So, having the best water brand around, paired with the top fashion week in the nation would be the culmination of a dream, and a most exciting experience. I would be humbly and excitedly welcome the opportunity.
