Dear Sir or Ma'am,

we are second graders and we have ideas about recycling your bottles.

With cheap shrink-wrap labels they could become a chess set, a set of mathing flash cards, photo frames, etc. Please let us design shrink-wrap covers to make people want to save your bottles.

Bottled water is inherently not environmentally friendly. No matter how much "off-setting" Fiji performs (whether the purpose is for saving $, marketing ploy, or even altruistic positive efforts), the effect will always be negative. If Fiji is truly interested in doing something positive, they will be proactive in halting not only their own production, but also by becoming a vocal leader against the bottled water industry.

One extra thing: For a 1l bottle of water, it wastes 5l in the bottle-manufacturing process. WATER-WASTERS!!!!!

Fiji probably gets the bottles in the form of "Blanks" from China, which are then expanded to their final size and shaped by a process called "stretch blow molding." The total mass of the empty 1 liter bottle is probably around 0.025kg (25g) and it is made from PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) Plastics of this type use around 6.45kg of oil per kg, 294.2kg of water per kg, and result in 3.723kg of greenhouse gas emissions per kg. So, with a quick check (200kg/kg x 0.025kg = 5kg of water) we find that a bottle that holds 1 liter requires 5 liters of water in its manufacturing process (this includes power plant cooling water).

I totally agree. The whole industry is messed up but I would still prefer to drink bottled water from a neigbouring state if I was going to anyway. Fiji gives people something else to 'need', water from around the world? You guys are ridiculous, exploiting the stupidity and greed of human beings and the environment for your stupid initiative which will make you rich.

Oh, I forgot, that's just capitalism.

FIJI water is disgusting! How dare you hire "A Green Guy" to make you look green when you are wasting precious water, brainwashing the entire American society, AND producing ridiculous amounts of waste with your disgusting, thick water bottles. Ugh. You make me sick.
