Fashion156.com has become one of our favorite destinations for brushing up on the latest trends and behind-the-scenes footage from all the shows. Its monthly themed shoots have been providing a platform for emerging talent since 2006.
When we heard that FASHION156CREATIVE was in the pipeline, we were intrigued. The agency, an offshoot of Fashion156.com, supplies brands (not just in fashion) with creative solutions to a creative need, like creating an ad or imagining an event. FASHION156CREATIVE draws on a pool of super-talented creatives, including the stylists, make-up artists, photographers and art directors who have been shaping Fashion156.com editorially. As Founder Guy Hipwell explains:
I kept discovering these amazing new designers and fresh graduates bursting out of universities and wanted to showcase their work in my shoots. Even though I was styling for some quite directional titles as a freelancer – sometimes I would be handed a list of ‘advertisers’ that somehow had to be included in the story – often the collection did not even fit the shoot theme. So really you could say Fashion156 came about due to frustration and now it is my decision if we feature a new student’s work on our covers. That is what inspires me the most, and every day I continue the search for something new, always trying to evolve and move F156 forward.
Taking over the TalkTalk building in Berwick Street, Wednesday’s launch was a multimedia showcase of fashion, music, technology, and more. Live photo shoots in the floor-to-ceiling windows attracted admiring glances from passersby on a sunny Soho evening. FIJI Water is proud to support Fashion156 and its role in championing the best of British fashion. Check out photos from the party below.
