Your Guide to the Hottest Parties at the Toronto International Film Festival

With an abundance of parties, red carpets and gifting suites, it’s easy to forget that the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is actually about film. Long recognized as the entertainment industry’s preferred water, FIJI Water will be on-site at some of the festival’s star-studded parties and events. Here are just a few hot happenings in Toronto.

IT Lounge

Where: NKPR, 312 Adelaide St., Toronto
Date: September 8 – 14, 2011

A celebrity gifting suite that gives back, NKPR headquarters will once again transform into a can’t-miss pop-up shop loaded with star-worthy finds. This year’s IT Lounge connects diverse brands such as Canada’s RW&CO. and Italy’s Coccinelle to raise funds and awareness not only for international charity partner Artists for Peace and Justice (founded by Academy Award-winner Paul Haggis) but also locally for Camp Oochigeas, where children with cancer rediscover the magic of childhood.

TORO After Dark Benefiting Artists for Peace and Justice

Where: TORO After Dark at AME
Date: September 9, 2011

Jennifer Garner at the Film Festival

As part of Artists for Peace and Justice‘s mandate to help children in Haiti, Paul Haggis, Gerard Butler, Jon Hamm, Jennifer Westfeldt, and George Stroumboulopoulos will team up to host a soirée at sophisticated night-spot AME. For just $150 per person, guests can rub elbows with A-listers and enjoy SKYY Vodka event-themed cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres in a lounge atmosphere. 100% of proceeds will benefit health, education, and dignity initiatives in Haiti.

HELLO! Hollywood Style Gala

Where: The Ritz-Carlton
Date: September 10, 2011

This is the first TIFF for The Ritz-Carlton, and what better way to break in this brand-spankin’-new hotel than with the HELLO! Hollywood Style red carpet and gala? It’s the magazine’s fifth-anniversary TIFF party and it’s celebrating Hollywood glam as featured so prominently in the pages of the magazine.

TORO After Dark

Where: AME
Date: September 10, 2011

The TORO After Dark lounge is a hideout for industry insiders to recharge on some cool cocktails and delectable passed hor d’oeuvres. The modern-meets-traditional-Japanese interior décor of the very Zen AME is the perfect backdrop to escape the festival noise. Brought to you by the dapper gents at TOROMagazine.com.

Academy for Peace and Justice Lunch

Where: Private Residence
Date: September 10, 2011

Held at a private estate in Toronto’s Annex neighbourhood, this intimate event will feature performances by Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and Arcade Fire’s Régine Chassagne.

InStyle Party

Where: Windsor Arms
Date: September 13, 2011

A TIFF staple, the InStyle party has no shortage of buzz or celebrities, making it the place to see and be seen. That is, if you can get on the iron-clad guest list.
