This September’s Spring 2012 New York Fashion Week was our 11th season at Fashion Week, and third season as official water of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, so when we say it was our best yet, it means something.
Highlights would have to include the Diane von Furstenberg show, with fashion icons Anna Wintour, Valentino, Oscar de la Renta, and stylist Rachel Zoe all present; a wild and crazy Fashion’s Night Out; Donna Karan’s street-side catwalk which we caught on video (see below); and rapper Nicki Minaj accessorizing with a pink Bavarian pretzel necklace at the Prabal Gurung show, as pictured above.

Our Fabulous Fashion Interns
But the best part of this season’s Fashion Week may have been our FIJI Water fashion interns. Chosen for the first time by popular vote on Facebook, our interns “brought it.” Teghan, Gabriel, Marco, and Kristie — you guys rock. Thank you for being such hard-workers, and representing FIJI with a smile.

Designer Highlights
Our very own Paul Poux, who has been at every NYFW since 2006 (that’s 11 seasons, but whose counting?), noticed a lot of salmon and coral colors on runways, “so we may see those in stores this spring and summer.” He also noted the continuing creep of athletic-wear styling into dresses and other evening wear.
But the highlight of the week for Poux was two spottings of Nicki Minaj, one at the Prabal Gurung show, and the other sitting next to Anna Wintour at Carolina Herrera. “It felt like a true fashion moment,” said Poux. “I learned later that Anna had never met Ms. Minaj before, but you’d never guess it by the way they were chatting and laughing together.”
