It’s a big world, filled with exciting places and talented people. Two of them have won the “Two Tickets to Paradise” Video Contest with their imaginative submissions and will soon be embarking on an unforgettable South Pacific adventure.
FIJI Water is proud to announce that Daniel Taylor’s video submission received the greatest number of votes, making him the contest’s Grand Prize winner. Daniel, a 21-year-old native of Charlotte, N.C., just graduated from college with a degree in film & animation. He and a guest will be flying to Fiji in Air Pacific‘s luxurious business-class seating.
In order to make his prize-winning entry, Daniel started by creating a short jingle that could basically narrate the entire video. “After laying out my scenes,” he says, “I started to design the backgrounds and characters using a very simplistic but readable style. Finally, after the designs were finished, I took a full night to animate, edit, and record my ‘jingle.’ After everything was finished, I sent it in and prayed for the best!” As for his trip, Daniel, who will be making his first excursion outside of the United States, plans to explore Fiji and “observe the wildlife on the island.” FIJI Water and Air Pacific wish Daniel well as he pursues his goal of directing feature films. Daniel’s winning video can be seen below.
The First Prize winner is Richard Boehmcke of Kew Gardens, New York. Richard’s submission (below) was also the result of some inspired brainstorming. “I was just trying to think about why someone would drink FIJI Water,” says Richard. “I thought about the kind of water I drink and how sometimes my tap water seems a little off. It kind of made me think of how sometimes my whole day is a little off. And then I thought about what a perfect day would taste like.” An aspiring writer, playwright, poet, and blogger, Richard plans to get to Fiji and bury himself “in the sand and not move for a week. Maybe I will have a fruity drink.” (We have a feeling Fiji’s beaches, rain forests, and culture will tempt him out of the dunes — eventually.)
