Want to Be an Intern at the September 2010 New York Fashion Week?
Contests, Fashion & Health  |  07.27.10
Want to Be an Intern at the September 2010 New York Fashion Week?

The autumn edition of New York Fashion Week is on its way, and once again, we’re looking for four dedicated, couture-loving interns to be a part of it all. Enter our contest and you could find yourself rubbing (very well-dressed) elbows with the world’s best-known names in sartorial style and design.

For four seasons, FIJI Water’s New York Fashion Week Intern Contest has given multiple interns a chance to see the inner workings of high-pressure, high-excitement fashion shows. One of last winter’s winners — whose video entry received almost 8,000 votes — wrote, “I was blown away by the creativity of the designer and the elegance of the models, and blinded by the amount of flashes going off in the room. It is amazing to see how much work goes into a show.”

That sense of amazement is the norm at every fashion show, whether it’s premiering the work of established designers like Marc Jacobs and Betsey Johnson or newer talents like Reed Krakoff and Alexander Berardi. And of course, there’s always plenty of great celebrity sightings at NYFW, too.

How It Works

  • Post your 150-300-word submission in the comments section of the FIJI Water blog below, explaining why your love of fashion and commitment to hard work make you the right person for the NYFW internship. Comments must be submitted by 11:59PM PST, August 5, 2010. Comments submitted on Facebook will not be considered.
  • Make sure you include your email address so we can contact you if you’re chosen as one of our finalists. If we can’t contact you through the email address you provide, we can’t include you as a finalist.
  • If you need some inspiration, take a look at the blog comments from last season’s Fashion Week intern search.

FIJI Water Fashion Week Interns show off their blue uniforms

Four former FIJI Water Fashion Week interns ready to work the February 2010 shows.

Then What?

  • August 10, 2010: We’ll choose the final eight (8) candidates, who will then star in their very own video as they answer three (3) specific questions from our FIJI Water Events team.
  • August 17-24, 2010: Visitors to this blog will be able to view the videos and vote for their favorite.
  • (On or around) August 25, 2010: We’ll tally up the votes and announce our Fashion Week interns.

The Fine Print:

  • Interns will receive a year of free FIJI Water Delivery.
  • By entering the contest, candidates agree to release and hold harmless FIJI Water and its affiliates and their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives and employees from all claims, liability or damage caused or claimed to be caused, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, in connection with this contest.
  • FIJI Water and its affiliates assume no responsibility for the conduct of any contestant or voter or the responses of anyone appearing in any entry.
  • By participating, candidates acknowledge and accept the terms of the official rules of the contest. Additional restrictions may apply.
  • Sorry, this internship is unpaid and does not offer reimbursement for any travel or lodging expenses, but there will be tons of networking opportunities and hands-on experience promoting a leading brand.
  • By submitting your comment, you also must be willing to provide us with a photo of yourself to be used with your video.
  • All candidates must be 18 years or older and a U.S. resident to participate in this contest.

New York Fashion Week is an exciting and dynamic experience, which means we’re looking for people who will be the perfect fit: friendly, appealing, and more than ready to embrace every aspect of this week-long adventure.  Enter now for your chance to go behind the scenes at one of the world’s premier fashion events.

Hi, I am a recent graduate from Wood-Tobe Coburn College as a Fashion Designer. I have been seeking for any open opportunity as an intern to further my skills, knowledge and to learn as well to complement me as I try and take my passion for fashion future further. And I think as an intern for FIJI Water for NYC Fashion Week is the way TO GO!!!. What better way to start off a rocking internship that is very inspirational and would be/can change your hold aspect of what you thought about working among designers and their target customers. Fiji is also a great way to start your day after having a morning exercise and hearty breakfast to a rocking fashion show that have taken all your energy. Your not thinking about eating your thinking about something to drink and what you think about is a cold bottle of water and there is FIJI at the rescue of quenching someone thirsts. I have been surrounded by cosmetology and fashion my entire life so I know how ruff and tough it can get from working long hours to satisfying your customers. I am from the wonderful island of Jamaica and came to America to pursue my dream in the fashion world. I’m a very fun person, dedicated to my work and I’m a people person. I am beyond versatile, like an almost impossible challenge and love the fast paced changing environment and will put a smile on your face when my task is done. Being that I just graduated would complement me becoming a representative at NYC Fashion Week for FIJI Water and I know can be one of the best internship someone can have just for the fact that its real life experience for anyone seeking more into becoming a designer this is a opportunity of a life time and would be greatly appreciated if given the opportunity. I AM UP FOR THE OPPORTUNITY THAT IS BEING OFFERED AND HOPEFULLY WILL TALK TO YOU SOON!!!!

Fashion. How do you define fashion? Is it a designer? A handbag? A shirt? A trend? Or is it much more than that? Is it just something which we follow or is fashion something we create for ourselves? With fashion, the possible answers to these questions are endless. One thing is for sure however. Fashion is you, we, us, them; and you, we, us and them...are fashion. What makes fashion so prevalent in our culture is that it allows us the freedom to be ourselves. Fashion allows you to be whoever you want to be, whenever you want to be it. Legendary designers have shown us this in various collections. They show you who they are, with their completely raw creativity and talent. This 'show' of who these designers are, is what has inspired the event known around the world - NY Fashion Week. Coco Chanel once stated: “Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” Fashion is my true love. I live for it. Every morning when I wake up, it's a joy and a creative journey to pick out what outfit to wear for the day. Fashion is what inspires me every day to pursue my dreams, attain my long term goals and showcase the person I am inside. This internship will allow me to prove my lifelong love for fashion. With my creativity and talent I know I can shine in this industry. Especially as a NYFW Intern for Fiji Water. This is the dream that I am praying comes true. My name is Meghan Mende. Fashion is who I am. Who I am is fashion. I hope to be there representing Fiji Water at NYFW. Thank you.

I believe everybody should live his/her life to the fullest and dress the best they can, not just to follow the fashion trends but to wear something that truly defines his/her personality. I design my own clothes and create my own fashion. Since I was four year-old, I’d design clothes and dresses for my dolls. I’d cut them out and put them on the dolls as I watched my mom design jackets and skirts in her small leather firm. In college, I was a stylist for a fashion magazine and was responsible for choosing outfits for photo shoots and assisting photographers and the art directors. I wanted to learn so much that I always asked for extra works. When I worked for an e-magazine, I took every opportunity to write about fashion and pitched ideas to my editors. These experiences demonstrate my strong work ethnic, self-starting qualities, multi-tasking skills, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, all of which will contribute to Fiji and this internship. I’m thankful that Fiji is offering this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I’m excited to learn about how this high-end fashion event works and look forward to chatting with professionals in the industry about my goals. If I get this internship, it’d definitely be a highlight of my journey into the world of fashion! Since going green’s become a fashion, as much as I love fashion and understand “taste,” I only drink Fiji Water. “Every drop is green,” and holding a bottle of Fiji-Green Fjji Water is definitely chic, not to mention the bottle’s design is elegant and sophisticated. i.e. Fashion = Fiji Water That’s why I believe Fiji Water goes hand in hand with every fashion show. I’m excited to go to the fashion week with Fiji! Thanks, Fiji for making this happen!

I found this offer while on craigslist searching for a fashion marketing job for the fall, but while your young and you have the time, what an amazing way to add to gain experience and knowledge in your field. I would love to be able to make money and do something I love, but finding this opportunity just reminding me that i have so many more things to do, chances to take, and people to meet before I get set in my field. I'm currently 22 years old, attending LIM College majoring in Marketing and Consumer Behaviors, and working part time as a waitress in the city. Going into my senior year is a scary thing, I feel so young and so mature at the same time, but how am I to know what i want to do for the rest of my life. I think internships are a great way to get a feel for the industry. I can sit in fashion classes all next semester, but being able to be a part of it is a breathe taking experience! I believe in destiny, and finding this opportunity with in the last hour of being available to apply, just shows some things happen for a reason. Please give me the chance to introduce myself in a video and I'm sure you wont be sorry! I have alot to offer, but even more to gain! Thank you so much. -Lynzie

Hi Fiji Water, I believe that everybody should live his/her life to the fullest and dress the best they can, not just to follow the fashion trends but to wear something that truly defines his/her personality. I design my own clothes and create my own fashion. Ever since I was four years old, I would design clothes and dresses for my dolls. I cut and stuck them together and put on the dolls when I watched my mom design jackets and skirts in her small leather firm. I remembered one day my mom made enough money to buy her first Dior dress, and when she put it on, it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. My mother was never happier. At that moment, I decided that when I grew up, I would design beautiful clothes like Dior’s for my mom and other women. Therefore, I have been working hard on making this happen. In college, I was a stylist for a campus fashion magazine and was responsible for choosing outfits for photo shoots and assisting photographers and the art directors. I wanted to learn so much that I always asked for extra things to do. This reassures my passion for fashion. When I worked for an online magazine, I took every opportunity to write about fashion and pitched ideas to my editors. These two experiences demonstrate my strong work ethnic, self-starting qualities, multi-tasking skills, as well as my ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, all of which will contribute to Fiji and this NYFW internship. I am thankful that Fiji is offering this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I am excited to learn about how this high-end fashion event works and look forward to chatting with professionals in the industry about my goals. I am excited to go to the fashion week with Fiji Water!I promise to give 110 % to this internship and believe I am the right person for it. Thanks, Fiji for making this happen! OhOhOhOMG as Usher said! FIJI, Fashion and NYC is the combination of an OMG! being part of it would just make me melt and blend in this pure, dynamic, exciting and exuberating experience. I just graduated from NYIT majored in marketing and this opportunity would be a dream comes true. I'm just like FIJI water purely interested, refreshingly dynamic and incredibly fashionable. The first time I had an encounter with FIJI was in a hotel room and off-course I took the bottle out everywhere I went, holding it with no shame. unlike other bottles of water, FIJI just gave me the edge of being part of the healthy, cool, and green society. In a nut shell, I know this job fits my description; I'm a hard worker, a dedicated person, serious and reliable about obligations, enthusiastic and I have a very genial and sunny personality.I did a lot of hands on projects during school years and participated in many professional enrichment programs and challenges which landed me with an award of excellence in marketing and becoming part of the presidential honor list from NYIT. My colleagues and faculty at school knew that they can depend on me anytime and every time.I know I Can Do it , Just let me be! Thank You

While my current love of fashion is reflected in my aspiration to work in fashion public relations my passion for fashion started at an early age. The glossy pages with beautiful faces/figures, clothing, vibrant colors, and luxurious smells influenced my adolescent years. My collection of fashion publications grew larger as I became older (I had boxes upon boxes). I knew I wanted to somehow be a part of this highly influential and competitive world. Fashion for me is not only clothing but its wearable art that can be expressed in many forms reflecting different personalities and styles. Having love for fashion isn’t enough to make it. I’ve learned that commitment, hard work, and determination combined with the love for fashion is what you need in order to become successful. I am one hundred percent committed and have dedicated everything I have to pursue a career in fashion. I volunteer at the nearest fashion shows. I’ve assisted in various duties including pre/post show set-up, making dress cards, arranging press kits and gift bags, dressing models, run of show, ushering and greeting guests, and personally assisted an event director. Whether it is school, work, a hobby, or volunteering I always can connect everything I do in life back to fashion. I would make the perfect intern for New York Fashion Week representing FIJI water because if given this opportunity I will promote FIJI water to the fullest! I would greatly appreciate this wonderful opportunity to help build my experiences and knowledge of the fashion industry! :)

Fashion to me is a creative thing, it's about expression. It's about waking up in the morning and feeling a certain way, and putting clothes on that will support you as an individual. I've always thought of fashion as the new rock and roll and the opportunity to intern with FIJI Water during New York Fashion Week would be a dream come true. I am currently a Junior at Florida State University where I major in Media Communication Studies and Public Relations with hopes to pursue a career as a Fashion Publicist. This past year I had the opportunity to work with The Affinity, a fashion organization, on the first annual FSU Homecoming Fashion Show. The endless hours of organizing, promotion, and collaboration with devoted students to make the show a success was truely an experience. My skills such as teamwork, communication, and multi-tasking makes me the right person for the NYFW internship. If picked, I will not let you down.

I am not a morning person. Ask anyone in my family and they can attest to that. Unfortunately, I don’t make the rules of the work field and must be up early for my internship. However, I don’t want my hate for the early time on my alarm clock to get in the way of the love I have for my marketing internship, which is why I turn to fashion. Every night before I fall asleep I try and plan out my outfit for the next day (because really, why get up any earlier than necessary?) I look in my closet and put together a refreshed look, something that will trick my mind into thinking I actually want to be up at that hour and make me excited to get out the door. It’s amazing how, once I add a pop of color or put on my favorite pair of black pumps, I feel like I just took a long sip of FIJI Water- refreshed, rejuvenated, and natural. I’m ready to start my day and do what I do best -work hard to succeed. I take pride in my ability to put everything I have into an assignment, no matter how big or small. I set high goals and believe that hard work and dedication (and the necessary accessories) will get me where I need to go. If I’m chosen as an intern, I will continue to work hard and be an asset to FIJI Water. I’ll take the experience from my past three internships and my natural go-getter attitude and be an intern you can count on. Plus, with all the fashion that I’ll be surrounded by, my alarm clock and I are sure to call a week long truce. Thanks FIJI Water! I hope you pick me :)

There are very few coveted luxuries in life to obtain. Well fashion, thank god, can be and is a part of everyone’s lives. I believe an outfit can change someone’s day, week, month, even year. Putting on that little black dress in your room can make you feel like a model on a runway and that you can take over the world with just a snap of fingers or in the swag of your walk. Style is a gift. No one says the only way to look good is to burn holes in your pockets but spending top dollar for a dress that barely covers half of your body. Get a hot pair of shoes as the basis of your palette and go! Be creative. Growing up an avid theatre go-er, lover, and performer, I find a new outfit can make you be someone you’re not while still showing off the person that is in you. One day you can wear a beret on your head and feel as if you are on the streets of Paris, in the fashion capital of the world, and next have an oversized bag and feel like you are shopping in Soho. The confidence to put that ensemble together is key and I believe fashion does wonders for the body, the person, and the self-image. My commitment to hard work and pursuing what you want out of life is key for this industry. I strive for perfection. I would be perfect for this Fashion Week Intern position because I know, thru theatre, what it is like to go through a fast paced costume change, make-up fix, and hair re-done transition. I love glitz, glam and excitement. Shoes make the lady and I, Laura, make the perfect fit for the NYFW internship position.

FIJI Water, When most people think of a recently graduated mechanical engineering woman, they do not envision someone like me, someone with a burning desire to be upfront in the fashion world. However, that is who I am: a nerd at heart with an incredible shoe collection. My life is a wonderful mess of knowledge and beauty, a real Isaac meets Oscar. A great inspiration of mine is to incorporate the engineering world with the color, excitement and pizzazz and unbelievable creativity that defines fashion and this would be a wonderful step in doing so. I have for years prayed to be able to attend fashion week in NY and to obtain the opportunity to actually participate and help out behind the scenes just gives me goose bumps. I thrive on experience and gaining knowledge especially when it pertains to my high interests. I look forward to nothing more than possibly being a representative for FIJI Water at one of the fashion industry's most notable events. If I am chosen, I can guarantee you an intelligent and diligent assistant who sincerely promises not to drool excessively at the show. My breath shall be on hold until the 10th. Kindest regards, A. Hi Fiji Water, As a current Fashion Merchandising student in the Academy of Art's MFA program and an aspiring plus-size model, I eat, breathe and live fashion! My dream is to walk during New York Fashion Week, preferably in Chanel's first plus-size line! I love the way fashion makes you feel, like you can take on the world when you know you look good. I love Couture and timeless designers like Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana, and Carolina Herrera. I also like really funky pieces from Wet Seal and Forever21. I have an eclectic fashion sense and have been known to cut my hair to match an outfit! I think fashion is more than just attire, and one's character, attitude and confidence makes a style work. How often have you seen an unusual fashion trend (think Harlem pants) that would NEVER work on you, and then see someone rocking that trend and looking hot? It's all about how you make the outfit work and wear it with confidence. I am a very hard working professional and motivated to achieve my dream of starting a Couture plus-size line. I am a lifelong student and humbled by what I can learn from those around me. I appreciate diversity and get along well with everyone. I think you should pick me to intern at New York Fashion Week because I represent the average woman, who is probably anything but average :) Thank you for your time! Shaylee

For as long as I can remember I have loved everything fashion. By age 5, I could be found clunking around the house in my plastic Cinderella heels wearing my Mom's lipstick and jewelry putting on my own little fashion show. But growing up in a small town, big dreams weren't encouraged. They were viewed as irresponsible and unrealistic. So I went to college but I didn't study fashion. Instead, I earned my degree in Telecommunications. After college, I felt lost. I ended up sitting at a desk I hated at a company I was uninterested in. Years passed by, then a few months ago I started a fashion blog to escape from my mundane professional reality. It was then that I started to find myself again and started to feel what I hadn't felt in a long time... happy. I know what I want now and I know that it is going to take a lot of hard work to get there. I have a dream that I'm not ashamed to pursue: Fashion Public Relations. This opportunity is truly amazing and I want to thank FIJI Water for presenting it. To work in the tents and see it all unfold would be lifelong dream come true. If I am considered I will take advantage of this opportunity and absorb as much information and experience I can. I will work very hard as this is not just something fun to do but the first step in a long awaited career path. Thank you for your time. Marissa Pepperell

My name's Russell. I was born with a single ventricle, had a pacemaker put in when I was 11, and I unfortunately suffer from a very rare condition known as Protein Losing Enteropathy with over a 50% mortality rate. When I was 15, I received a Make-A-Wish, and wished to go to Japan for a week with my family. It changed my life. Thanks to the trip, I have found a love and addiction to fashion!! I used to be known as "the kid with the heart problem," but now I am known as the stylish guy. I modeled in 8 Japanese street fashion magazines, including, Nylon Guy's. I like to wear styles that express my own individuality. Fashion is all about being true to yourself and making the sidewalk your own personal runway! After I finished school in Michigan, I made the decision to move to NYC. I was lonely, nervous, and a bit scared at first, but NYC is definitely where I belonged and I adapted rather quickly to the busy lifestyle here. Fashion is my life. Thanks for reading my story. Russell

THE WORLD IS MY CATWALK!—though this may be a daring choice of words, I can confidently say I have a “passion for fashion”. I am an energetic, hard-working young woman with an excited drive to inspire others through the creative BEAUTY of fashion. I have been involved in over thirty fashion shows over the past four years—Five of which I have coordinated myself, seven in which I have designed for, and over fifteen of which I have modeled in. I have assisted in five high end/couture shows, and written about five for a Seattle-based magazine. Please review my blog www.fashionablyformed.blogspot.com for a full view of my broad experience in the fashion industry. Now that I have graduated college with a degree in Apparel Design, I am ready to move away from the West Coast and jump head-first into the inspiring world of New York’s High FASHION scene. I understand the construction of a garment—from design development, to drafting a pattern, to sewing, to fitting a model, to watching the garment float down the runway. I understand what it takes to produce a show—programs, seating, lighting, music, changes, runway choreography, queuing models, etc. Fashion truly is an art. I drool over images on Style.com and rich content in the New York Times ThursdayStyle Section. WOW! What an experience it would be to first-handedly see the designs waltz down the runway! I would be honored to work at Fashion Week. No task is too small or too big. My experience and understanding of design and fashion show production combined with an eagerness to learn make me an outstanding candidate to intern at the September 2010 New York Fashion Week. I’m ready to WORK IT! Sincerely and Expectantly, Carlynne Morrison Holtzinger

The signature square Figi water bottle is as classic as a pair of black pumps. Both are staples in a woman's life that exude sleek and sexy confidence. I am a raising senior at the University of South Florida located in the Tampa Bay area. I am majoring in advertising/public relations with a double major in music studies. New York City is a fascinating and exhausting place, I love it! I was offered an internship with a prestigious advertising agency in Midtown Manhattan during this past summer. I had never been to the city before but I decided take a risk and accept the offer. I moved into a tiny studio and began exploring the greatest city in the world. During my internship, I was ecstatic to worked on the agency's Lilly Pulitzer campaign, a brand known for their colorful patterns. I was fortunate enough to work directly with the Lilly Pulitzer executives and eventually we were invited to tour their headquarters in PA. Meeting and interviewing the head designer was the highlight of my summer. I was able to see the designs and patterns for the upcoming season. Over the past three months, I have gained extremely valuable experience in the fast-paced adverting world. Everyday during my commute on the subway, I hear, "42nd Street- Bryant Park" announced. I always find myself daydreaming about what it must be like to attend the hustle and bustle of Fashion Week. I will represent Figi brand with an personable and professional attitude att New York Fashion Week. As someone who keeps up-to-date with trends and designers, this would truly be my dream internship. Thank you for your consideration, Julia Pawling

As Coco Chanel so eloquently put it, “the most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud.” In a country that often promotes normalcy and similarity as something for which to strive, individuals who would like to break away from the sameness of those around them are often judged and ridiculed. Personally, fashion has become my way of distinguishing myself from the norm. I believe that Coco Chanel would be proud to know that I am able to transform my thoughts into the threads that encircle me in an attempt to think for myself, aloud. I believe that you at Fiji Water are doing just the same—although instead of thinking aloud using fashion you have bottled water that is so pure and unique that it is able to assist others in accomplishing their own desire to think for themselves. As a person who has the courage to think for myself and to reveal my thoughts and individuality through what I wear everyday, I believe that I would be a perfect candidate for the NYFW internship. Not only do I love fashion, but I am also extremely creative and outgoing and I take pride in my dedication to working hard and to my best ability. If I were given the opportunity to intern for Fiji Water during Fashion Week, I can guarantee that I would soak up every minute of the experience while keeping in mind how fortunate I was to be a part of it all. I believe, and I think Coco Chanel would agree, that every person has the courage inside to break away from the norm and to think aloud for themselves. But for those who need a little help, a great outfit and a refreshing bottle of Fiji Water might be just what they need.

To me, nothing illuminates the inextricable link between Fiji water and high fashion quite like a scene in the Vogue documentary The September Issue. Editor-at-large André Leon Talley takes a break from playing tennis. He sits on a court-side bench, reaches into a large Louis Vuitton case, and uncaps a bottle of Fiji water. My love for both fashion and writing ignited when I bought my first Vogue off the newsstand at age 14. Vogue taught me an appreciation for quality products and refined aesthetics, which is why I choose Fiji water’s unadulterated taste and bottle (that makes me feel like I’m on an island holiday, shrouded in palm fronds), over other waters. I will be graduating from the University of Pittsburgh with a dual major in Communications and Nonfiction Writing in August. While those majors seem irrelated to fashion, I managed to incorporate my love for the sartorial into research projects on fashion PR, Godey’s Lady’s Book, and a paper relating Walter Benjamin’s “A Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction” to the luxury counterfeiting industry. I have held a number of odd jobs during college, ranging from a stint working in a steel mill, to waiting tables at a Peruvian diner. Ultimately, I hope to work in fashion PR though. I would love for my first job as a college graduate to involve serving as a liaison for Fiji water at NYFW, an event that I consider my favorite holiday! Sincerely, Jennifer Monahan

Going to see a show during fashion week in either New York or Paris is one of my biggest dreams. Being a part of fashion week? A different experience entirely. Afterwards, I could die happy. I am a senior at Virginia Tech and involved in the Fashion Merchandising and Design Society. Through FMDS, I modeled for two fashion shows, which gave me a greater understanding of the extensive preparation and hard work that goes into preparing one. I have taken this love of fashion and used it in every aspect of my life. In my apartment, I created a “fashion wall” a 20’ x 10’ collage of print ads showcasing my favorite outfits and brands from magazines. Every day I look at it for inspiration. My love of this industry led me to do promotional work for Maybelline. I represented this fantastic company in various CVS locations, talking to customers about the mascara I was representing and enlightening people about its great benefits. I managed to sell a lot of mascara during the promotion and left with a sense of connection to the company. I continue to spread good publicity for Maybelline and buy their products, even though the promotion is now over. I am confident I could do the same for FIJI water. And I know that after Fashion Week is over, I will maintain that sense of loyalty to FIJI. Above all, what makes me ideal for this position is my creativity; my outgoing and confident personality; and my love for fashion and promotional events. I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Ashley Sanders

Hello, I can assure that fashion is definitely a passion of mine. With a degree in fashion design and working towards a degree in fashion retail and management there is no doubt that I live for fashion. My commitment to fashion is so strong I look to receive my masters degree for fashion in the future. When it comes to work related opportunities I have never been at the right place at the right time and I feel this would be it. I feel this will be an experience of a lifetime. I am a confident and outgoing person with a can do attitude. Anything I do I strive to do it the best way possible. I feel presentation is very important in a person and in a brand. Which is why I feel having a very positive and upbeat demeanor that would be great to represent a great quality brand such as Fiji water is important, making me the ideal candidate. Thank you for the opportunity of entering the contest. Look forward to hearing from you soon. Cheers, Arianna

To be able to be a part of an experience such as Fashion Week as a Fiji intern would be so much more than a dream come true. It would be the opportunity of a lifetime to show how hard work and determination always pay off. My love for fashion has taken me from leather and lace to bows and zippers. I have experienced the dreaded overalls and the fabulous flowing dresses, all the while finding not only what fashion is about but what I am about. I have learned more about me with every new great style and every "maybe I should've skipped this trend." I am a determined, hardworking young women who loves to laugh and have a good time all the while making sure the task at hand gets done. I have studied public relations for the past 4 years of my life and know so well how the journey is greater than the destination. Every moment representing Fiji during fashion week would be one in which I could pass along my excitement for such pure, clean, delicious water to another person who has not been able to experience it in the same way. The means to the end is the most important left out detail and as a Fiji intern I could build relationships with each bottle between the best tasting water and the best dressed. Give me the chance to remind the world why Fiji is the chosen water of New York's Fashion Week.

As a fellow fashionista, I would love to represent Fiji Water at this year’s New York Fashion Week. I know Fiji Water will help all the models, publicists, and designers stay hydrated during this exciting time.My idea of fashion is not all about the clothes and the makeup, but the excitement and energy that the industry gives off. You see, it’s not just “stuff”.”Fashion is really something. The industry is powerful, influencing, economic, and full of energy which is why I love it so much. I’m not saying scientists and engineers or whoever are boring or worthless either. What I’m trying to say is that I carry the same passion they do except in a different field. And there’s truly nothing wrong with that, as long as you enjoy what you do. Thank-You, Quincy QMARSHALL@TMO.BLACKBERRY.NET

Hey Fiji, Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to be involved in fashion. My biggest accomplishment yet has been learning how to work with a sewing machine and getting accepted into Fashion Institute of Technology for the upcoming fall semester. Not only do I always start my morning with Fiji water, I would be delighted and eager to help represent the water that starts up my morning just right. I may not have much brands in my closet but admire to one day have my own line, something within the mixture of Alexander McQueen and Chanel. This would be a fabulous opportunity for me to learn more of what it takes to become a future designer. Being a girl with small opportunities, I always thought that somewhere along my life line I would have an eye opening opportunity and I truly believe that Fiji Water can give me this opportunity to go to Fashion Week. I have always been a work ethic type of girl and will go to the end to accomplish any task that has been set forth to me. I certainly would not want to let you down for this marvelous opportunity given to me. Thank you for reading this and for giving me a chance to be optimistic for helping out in Fashion Week. As a fellow fashionista, I would love to represent Fiji Water at this year’s New York Fashion Week. I know Fiji Water will help all the models, publicists, and designers stay hydrated during this exciting time. I have lived all over the world, and there were only two things I could count on. One was Fiji Water the best tasting water in the world. Fashion was the second where ever you are in the world every girl wants to be stylish. As a current intern for US Weekly, I know what hard work is. I am prepared to work day and night during Fashion Week and will work really hard to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible. I have always had a passion for fashion and can spot Marc Jacobs a mile away. I also love my Betsey Johnson and love Anna Sui’s creativity. If I w as lucky enough to be chosen, I would work my Christian Louboutins off and always have a smile on my face and a Fiji Water in my hand. Thank-you, Ashley schuwashley@msn.com

When I was little I used to play dress up and pick out fabrics for my mom to make me and my twin sister matching outfits. The highlight of my week was choosing my Barbie’s new outfits from the Fashion Avenue line and I loved old movies like "There’s No Business Like Show Business," "Singin’ in the Rain," and "Meet Me in St. Louis" because of the gowns Maryland Monroe and Judy Garland wore. This love for fashion has evolved over the years into a full blown passion for the industry, especially haute couture. I truly love the artistic aspects of the pieces, the character that the detailing provides them, and the innovative, conceptual thinking that goes into creating a line. I would love to be an intern chosen for the FIJI Water Fashion Week contest because it has always been my dream to go to Fashion Week. Having moved up to the city after graduating from the University of Virginia in May with a business degree and supplemental fashion studies, I have set myself the task of finding my spot within the industry. Winning this contest would not only fulfill my dreams but would allow me the fantastic opportunity of meeting the Fashion elite—the people who make the decisions, have the visions, and shape the industry. It would truly be an honor. I love that FIJI, a lifestyle and luxury brand in itself, understands the opportunity it can provide through this contest! Thanks! Jenny jfe7m@virginia.edu

Fashion has been a passion of mine since Madonna’s "Music" album in 2000. Fashion displays individuality and for me, it is an outlet that gets my creative juices flowing. Fashion is in my DNA. I was taught in college, during public relations classes, that we all have 5 seconds to sell ourselves. In those seconds, opinions are already formed about us, and first impressions are already made. Therefore, being fashionable is a must, not an option. This Fall I am pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing at the Academy of Art University with extreme high hopes of opening my own fashion PR firm. The fashion industry is bombarded with amazing talent and I want to help those who are unknown become known. I am the right person for the New York Fashion Week internship because I have a go-getter attitude and am very confident with communicating with people. I am dedicated to anything involving fashion and I can maintain a friendly attitude while working under pressure. I never start anything without finishing it and my work ethic is always 100 percent! I am the right person for this internship because fashion is in my heart and I am committed, plus, who doesn’t love FUJI Water? I cannot wait to work with you! 

From the days when I dressed my Barbies in couture made from frilly socks and holey gloves to the present when no one in my family leaves the house without first getting my approval of their outfit and accessories, fashion and style have been my guiding lights and chief interests. I have taken classes in sewing and clothing construction, painting and drawing and video-making, worked as an intern at a fashion blog and at a clothing manufacturer, designed bridesmaid dresses for my sister's wedding, and put together complete outfits from disparate elements in my wardrobe. I have worked since middle school and participated in extracurricular activities such as fundraising for charity, yearbook and various high school productions. I'm your go-to girl when you want to get the job done, see it through from inception to completion, satisfaction guaranteed! Interning at Fashion Week will give me the opportunity to put my work ethic to good use in the service of an industry that I love, as well as meet designers I have long admired and see how a collection comes together. Plus, I will stay properly hydrated with Fiji Water! Thank you for offering this chance to fashion hopefuls like me, and best of luck to everyone at Fashion Week.

Hello, I would like to apply for the Fuji Water Intern position for Fashion Week in New York. I am a single Mother of two children (14 & 17) and have always instilled in my children to go after what they want and they will achieve greatness if they give it their all. I am a freelance writer and just started copywriting for a new fashion label. I have always loved fashion journalism/fashion styling and are very excited to have been accepted to work in two of Michigans' largest fashion shows over the next two months. Now that my children are older, I have decided to go back to my journalism roots and focus more on my fashion writing career. I am a dedicated hard worker, I am very reliable and would be an excellent choice as an intern. I would walk away with immense knowledge from the intern experience that I would use throughout the rest of my career. I, like my children will achieve greatness from being a part of Figi Water Fashion Week. Thank you for your consideration.

When I think of FIJI Water, I think of style and fashion. The first time I was introduced to FIJI water was way back in middle school when it was sold in the cafeteria of my all-girls Catholic school. Even though it was a little pricey, a FIJI water bottle in your backpack meant that you were more fashion-forward than the rest of the girls and had a little bit of an "edge" (well, as edgy as you can be in a plaid uniform kilt and a Land's End sweater). Fast forward to my college years at Lehigh University, and I can't help but think of another memorable moment with FIJI Water. During our freshman year, my friend Elise was obsessed with buying beverages in bulk at the beverage stores in Pennsylvania. She would come back from a holiday or 3-day weekend, with cases of Gatorade, vitamin water, and FIJI Water. When I asked Elise why she bought FIJI water instead of generic bottled spring water, she replied "I'm the poster child for successful marketing and packaging. If it looks pretty, I will buy it." Ever since Elise and I had that conversation, I've always been more inclined to buy a product with beautiful packaging. I look at it more as art, rather than a plastic label. So, now that I've shared my wonderful memories of FIJI Water, why should I be an intern at Fashion Week? Essentially, I think it sounds like a fun opportunity that only comes by once in a lifetime. I have always been interested in fashion and the newest trends, and although I have my own style, I am always looking for inspiration to add a little "spice" to my wardrobe. In addition, I just graduated from Lehigh University in May 2010. I am currently looking for a job in the fashion and/or retail industry, and being a part of Fashion Week would be a great way to network and make some business contacts. I am an extremely hard-worker, passionate and will complete any intern task to perfection! Thank you for the opportunity to participate in Fashion Week and I hope to see you there!! Yours in all things FIJI and Fashion, Erin Naku

I live, breathe, and find myself in fashion every day. I know what hard work is, because when majoring and interning in fashion you truly see the light. No! Not the glamour and shining lights, but the light that represents the truth about working in the fashion industry. I personally have experienced the late nights, putting everything you have on the table, and taking risk. Fashion has taught me that hard work does pay off. The feeling you get when you know you put all you have into something, and your happy with the outcome is the best feeling yet. So yes, I do believe I am the perfect candidate for this internship, because I know hard work. People dream about working in fashion but for me dreaming isn’t an option, hard work and determination is, and that is exactly what I have. Fiji Water represents fashion in so many ways. It provides people with an extraordinary way to experience water, just as fashion gives everyone the chance to express themselves in extraordinary ways. I think that when you truly love something hard work doesn’t become work at all, it becomes your passion the reason why you love getting up in the morning. That is what fashion means to me the commitment that is evolved in it is appreciated everyday. Thank You Fiji Water for providing this opportunity for people like me and others to get a chance to truly experience fashion. Sincerely, Lashay Boyd lboyd011@gmail.com

No one is more fascinated or hardworking when it come to Fashion than myself. When it comes to fashion ,i embrace personal style. fashion is art in motion! It allows you to see what mood a person is in at that moment or helps undestand an individuals creativity. Of course there is a lot of thought and hard work that goes into developing a Fasion line. The designers ideas can be conceptualized in their minds, but it takes a lot of talent to communicate that vision to the consumer. As a person working hard behind the scenes.I would make sure the shows goes off beautifully,by following directions and making sure things get down right the first time! I love and respect designers for their hard work<so it would be an honor to work my hardest for them and FIJI.

I grew up in Montana, but I must confess, I feel most at home surrounded by the excitement, the color, the fashion and the energy of New York City where I have now claimed as my home. Naturally exuberant and interested in visual expression, I discovered my passion for film, for advertising and for fashion during a summer program in London. I’m impressed by the energy, innovation and excitement of your team and believe that my networking skills, outgoing personality and creative mindset will complement FIJI's company vision. I’ve been a skier since I was four and whether I’m finding the most strategic way to get down the mountain or consistently pushing myself, I never shy away from a challenge. Eager to try anything new and capable of tackling many jobs at once, I find the “off-trail” of any situation and use my creativity and innovative approach to enhance all the projects I take on. Through my work in customer service at Helly Hanson, in promotion for Bank of America, and as an intern with the Model Club, Inc., I have developed my interest in – and talent for – knowing what people want and need and how to reach them. With my passion for fashion combined with my experience in promotion, I believe I am the perfect candidate to represent FIJI Water at New York Fashion Week.

Hi! My name's Camille and I'm here to tell you why I need no formal introduction. I can fit into any schedule you put me in, I'm a great way to de-stress, and revitalize (well, perhaps just the Fiji water that I'd bring). Refreshing and cool while in an appealing and colorful package, it's no wonder why I stand out. You need sophistication? I've got it! Originality? Check! An upbeat look that sells itself? Got that too! Funny how this bottled water and I go hand in hand, huh? As for for fashion and Fiji Water? Perfectly necessary.

In a past life, I must have been a unicorn. You hear about them. You dream about them. They have magical powers- all they have to do is point their glittery horn and the weak can be healed, sadness turns to joy, and Lindsay Lohan can go back in time to her prime when she starred in Disney’s “The Parent Trap”. Now if you don’t know me, you may believe that this is a pretentious claim. However, those that have had the pleasure of being graced with my presence would not only allow this point to be made, they would defend it. My name is Katie Andrew, and I am the perfect candidate for the FIGI Water Fashion Week Internship. I have an incredibly strong personality, but I find that I get along with nearly everyone. Although I am confident, it’s not off-putting, and am easy to talk to. Growing up, I was outfitted my brother’s hand-me-downs. To get back at my Mom, I developed a obsessive interest in fashion, style, and all things beautiful. An opportunity to work Fashion week would be the opportunity of a lifetime. (Both for me and for those fortunate enough to get to meet me.) You may be wondering what this has to do with unicorns. I am a unique blend, truly one of a kind. I’m funny and down to earth. I’m cute, but am not afraid to get dirty. I’m approachable yet commanding. I’m smart and am not afraid to show it. I’m the best choice there is out there, and you’d be bonkers (yeah, I said “bonkers”) to pick anyone else. Reach me at: Katharineandrew@gmail.com!

Hi Fiji Water! My name is Nina and I am an advertising and pr BA graduate from NYC. I believe I should be one of the interns selected for Fashion Week Sept 2010 because I have great people-skills, I am super friendly, outgoing and love fashion! I am classy and know how to carry myself as well as hold a conversation with anyone. I am not one to be star-struck either and know how to conduct myself perfectly. I have always wanted to go to Fashion Week but have never been able to. If I was selected it would be a dream come true for me. I know and follow the latest designers and am always on top of new trends and fashions. I also take pride in my looks and take care of myself. Be it at the beach or at a party or indoors I always stay hydrated and drink lots of water. And Fiji water has always been in my life because my dad loves it and always buys it. So being one of the Fiji water interns will be a perfect fit. As exotic as Fiji Water is and its beautiful island style bottle I will be its match with my 5'8 frame, tan skin and long black hair. Having someone that stands out can only be right for Fashion Week!

Outgoing, reliable, cheerful, independent, fashionable, funny- yup I’m one of those people who laughs at their own jokes, eager to learn, fun and most of all motivated- just a couple terms used to describe me! I recently studied in Italy, France and Switzerland; one of the best decisions I could have made. Traveling to Europe and seeing their culture and how they differ from America was so intriguing! Not to mention the fashions! I believe that with a good education, hands on experience and a heart that will never let you give up, anyone can make their dreams come true. For the past two years I have worked during the Fashion Coterie in NYC where I assisted designers in displaying their upcoming seasonal lines to buyers. It may seem like fun to many however, it’s a lot of hard work and dedication; two defining terms I am familiar with. I have gained much experience through internships as well; this summer I worked in the J Brand denim showroom where I worked closely with the sales representatives and assisted them in placing orders for upscale clientele which includes Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue and Intermix. Public Relations/ Fashion Journalism have always been a field that interests me. From the fast paced work environment to the energy you must have; there is nothing better than a good challenge and I am ready to taken on any obstacle in my way to get where I know I can be. If chosen to intern with FIJI water during Fashion Week 2010 I plan to work very long and hard to achieve my goals and make my dreams come true; that is why I am the perfect candidate.

The chance to be a part of fashion week thrills me. I have wanted to experience fashion week in person, since I can remember. When I was in high school I would take classes at F.I.T. on the weekends. Which allowed me to create a strong fashion portfolio. I have a degree from Parsons School of Design with a major in fashion design. It took hard work and dedication to my craft to earn my degree. With the economy being what it is. It has been difficult to find work in the field I love. Being involved in fashion week would be an experience to treasure. Being a brand ambassador for Fiji water would inspire me. My attention to precise detail and outgoing nature, would make me an asset for this job.

Hi, my name is Kayi Lo, I am responding to this internship because all of my life I have had a passion for the fashion industry and always looked for ways to submerse myself in similar environments. However, because of my traditional parents’ advice, I ended up majoring in Marketing Management in Baruch College instead of fashion design. I’m originally from Hong Kong and I believe that I have a very good sense of fashion. I like PRETTY stuff, and that’s one of the reasons why I choose Fiji water. I’m a very talkative, creative, outgoing and optimistic person. I am sure I will be the right candidate for this internship. Best Regard, Kayi L. missykalia@hotmail.com

In medical school they teach us the 60, 40, 20 rule. This mnemonic helps us remember that 60% of our bodies are composed of water with 2/3rds of that being intracellular fluid (40) and 1/3rd being extracellular fluid (20). This is all very important for physiological cellular regulation and overall health. The best way to stay hydrated and healthy then would be to drink none other than FIJI! I’m a 25 year old self proclaimed fashionista-geek. Currently a junior in medical school in NYC, I chose to pursue my dream of helping people first and next I aspire to become a famous shoe designer. Representing FIJI at NYFW would be so rewarding. It would be an opportunity to combine my love of two passions: health and fashion. FIJI water is so perfect for NYFW and everyone involved with it. People want to be seen drinking this gorgeous rectangular, colorful, fashionable bottle of freshness. Please tear me away from my books and rotations for a week and help me represent FIJI. I would be honored to be part of such a grand experience. Cheers to FIJI!

Coco Chanel once said, "Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening." It is this quote that truly describes my desire to be a part of New York Fashion Week. While some find inspiration, real beauty, and enjoyment in their lives from visiting museums or studying various architecture, to me the most beautiful and captivating pieces of artwork come in the form of clothing. To be a part of New York Fashion Week would a captivating experience for me as I would be able to work within the tents that I have sat outside since I was a little girl daydreaming about what beautiful creations were only a few hundred feet away from me. My love for fashion, my love for how it impacts our lives, and my love for the beauty that it brings to this world is the reason why I would be the ideal candidate. I have always believed that the best workers are those that have passion for what they are doing and this is something I know am extremely passionate about.

New York City is the world's greatest runway, there are fashion delicacies up and down these streets everyday. I admire these streets and its fashionistas due to the daring innovation I encounter in a park, in a shop, on the train, in a museum, during the nightlife or just taking a small break to breathe in this hot weather while on the street. New York City is my mecca, this is where I belong because many of us crave the same desire to live, breathe and sleep fashion. But behind beautiful creations showcased during NYFW there is a major part of getting the process done for the final delivery. And it is that excitement and process that and delivery pulls me into this world of beauty and hard work. I have tried my best to gain as much experience in fashion as I can, from school to retail, to trade shows to runways and this would be an excellent to expand my knowledge in this industry and as I always say, WORK HARD, PLAY HARD!

Fashion. Some people just get it, and we all know what I am talking about. As natural to us as breathing air or drinking water (FIJI, of course!), trend-setting is simply second nature to some. And what a dream come true this could be for a small town boy like myself, to be thrown in the mix of people who are just as passionate about this industry as I am...the epicenter for people who "just get it"...New York FASHION Week! As a Texas native, I posses an organic magnetism that draws people in, with a flare of that infamous southern charm. And as a gentleman, long time fashionisto, and FIJI water drinker, I hold no qualms endorsing either during fashion week, granted this phenomenal opportunity. Like any top designer could vouch, inherent attention to detail is one of my greatest strengths. I am a firm believer in quality over quantity, in all aspects. Driven, I have a gung-ho attitude, and mentality to make the best of every situation. Always. But enough telling you about it...let me prove it to you! Take a chance on this southern boy for the Fall 2010 New York Fashion Week, and you wont be disappointed - guaranteed! May it be Bryant or Damrosch Park(s)...I'm ready!

Like FIJI – I believe everything is an experience. – We are all a sum of all the decision we have made and what makes up the person that stands before you today. The characteristics that Fiji has along with the process that it undergoes, also makes it the unique product that we see before our eyes! Especially after post college graduate life - I believe everything is a life learning experience. I would be honored to work alongside the FIJI Water family as a brand ambassador in the Fall 2010 New York Fashion week. I aspire to be an event planner and love to be “behind the scenes” making things happen! There is also something about the challenge and excitement of working in a fast pace environment that fascinates me! I have been known to have a keen and fresh fashion sense of style; and often put together unlikely pieces to create an amazing outfit! Alongside my optimistic view on life and personal passion for fashion (cliché I know, but so true!); I am also a self driven, hardworking individual who strives to leave my “legacy” in everything I am a part of. Where do I began! My love for fashion runs so deep into my soul, I'm so PASSIONATE about it that it hurts to be around those with no interest for it at all sometimes. I love to be in a setting where it's mind Boggling and CHALLENGING. This will be the ideal job for me to be around my "Soul Mate'. What's else can I say but if I get the opportunity to sweat, work my hardest and on top of that, Drink the greatest water EVER!!! It will be monumental and I wont let Fiji down. I'm a great person in and out. Fashion is my everyday Routine, It's the way I live and work. I do Annual Fashion Show's and every year I challenge myself just a little more. Fashion is me! I love the honesty of it, the creativity, the enjoyment of Fashion. It's all I ever wanted to do as a child and Still I can't get enough of it. Please consider me and you too will be amazed at my HEART.

FIJI water is a refreshing taste that quenches your thirst, as New York fashion week quenches mine. All of my life I have had a love for fashion and New York City. I just recently graduated from Ole Miss and am currently moving to NYC in less than two weeks. I have a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and Public Relations and have took numerous fashion design classes. I would say that I am a go getter and self starter. I am and have always been determined to reach my goals, no matter how far they seem to be. My passion, hard work, creativity, originality, dedication, integrity, and positivity all make me the right candidate for the intern position to work New York fashion week and with FIJI water. Fashion week is incredibly a non-stop, fast paced environment, which I work well with. Dehydration can occur when working hard and being extremely busy, but with FIJI water involved that won’t be a problem for this year’s fashion week. Not only is FIJI water my favorite source of water, but keeping hydrated keeps your mind going and without the essential supply of water to one’s body you loose your motivation. I believe that having FIJI water on hand during Fashion Week is a wonderful idea that will help brighten models, interns, designers, fashion week guests, and hosts as they keep hydrated. One must take large risks to gain large rewards and I am doing so by giving up everything and moving to New York City because I know with my passion for life and following my dreams, I will succeed. Please choose me to be an intern for New York fashion week and FIJI water, you won’t regret it! Much thanks!

I know I would be a great intern for FIJI Water at New York Fashion Week because I live and breathe fashion! I am a recent graduate in fashion design at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and my love for fashion and creating garments is my main passion in life. I was an A student in college, and was only able to go because of Scholarships. I have won two best in show competitions and feel so blessed in my life to have had the support of my family and my home town in New Orleans. I know an experience like this is once in a lifetime and I would not be able to do it without FIJI Water. I am very kind, outgoing and hard working, which is perfect for promoting such a great company as FIJI Water. My respect for the fashion industry and garment construction would make this experience much more than just winning a contest. It would be life changing. Thank you for offering this contest! I know that I'm the right person for one of the intern positions because I will outwork, outdetail, and outshine every other applicant, all while having more passion than each of them combined. How do I know this? When the choice came to afford either housing or my passion, I chose my passion of coture dressing through performance art, living in my car for the past two years to study and practice how fashion applies to art, performance, and our everyday lives. I sold my car and moved to NYC last week, equipped with the passion, drive, and work ethic skills needed to go far and above every task put upon me for the September 2010 Fashion Week. Sincerely, Andrew J.B. Wainner

FIJI what a great opportunity this is to give a chance to some girl that is filled with dreams about being involved in such a big event as Fashion Week even though it is a CHANCE. I am not the only one who would be saying this but it has always been a dream of mine to be in one of those tents admiring the essence of creativity through clothes that I adore. Even to be in an empty tent to sneak around would be an honor but to be actually involved with the show is even a greater honor. Coming here from my country years ago made my parents and I dream bigger than what was I was headed for. The hard work that they have done till present in order for our well being will always be thought of. My mom worked in the city by 42 Grand Central since I was little girl and when Fashion Week was in town, I was captivated. So as we used to get on/off the 7 Train, I would beg her to walk over so I can try to gaze through the private areas. I always told my mom "I do not know what it will be or what I would be doing but I will definitely be affiliated with ALL that when I get older". She laughed and told me that she loved my big dreams but you know what I am going to go big or go home. Going big seems to be the better choice in this matter, FIJI!!!!! Thank You, Eunhee515@yahoo.com

Fashion: Is not what you wear but how you rock it! Water something that you need in order to survuve...Fashion is my heat and water is my lungs. It's like a engine that I need in order to keep me going...if I didn't have such a strong passion for fasion I would be still working at this restaurant stressing...If I am going to stress about something it has to be somerhing worth stressing for. I cannot worry about why she isn't happy with the section of the restaurant that she is sitting in but more of why she isn't wearing the right shoes with that dress. I have always said that I would rather be a broke but rich at heart supermodel than a stressed out wall street worker...its my passion my life my tear ducts overfill with salty tears everyday because I am just happy to be in a fashion capital of the world. FIJI would love to have me respresent them in a fashionable way at the 2010 Mercedes Benz Fashion week show....See you all there!

FIJI and FASHION. I could have been still been working at that restaurant making enough money to survive in New York... But I would rather stick with the fun stuff...which is the reason why I talk, walk, eat, suck in air that is surrounded by fashion and models. Not only models but designers too. I give a fierce look then give people a warm graceful smile. My passion and desire for fashion is strong due to the fact that I wasn't able to become a model at the tender age of 14 because my dreams were and still are beyond realistic to my parents. I am clear cool and refreshing on a hot fierce day, something like a bottle of FIJI WATER would be to me. Fashion week 2010 would be beyond real to me if I can represent FIJI WATER in a consumable and Fashionable way. I would rather be broke doing what I love then making tons of money doing what I hate!

Greetings!!! My name is Leslie Brock and I am interested in interning at this year's FIJI Water’s New York Fashion Week. Currently I am a Journalism Major at the University of North Texas with aspirations to be a fashion editor at a magazine. For this position, an intern should be able to take initiative to complete tasks yet know when to sit back and listen to his/her peers and supervisors. Also, they must have the passion and energy to support their team. I believe I possess those qualities. I describe myself as a fastidious and articulate individual who enjoys working with people and my strong work ethic assures that I can complete tasks independently. I believe in order to be successful; I should be knowledgeable of all aspects of the fashion industry to broaden my familiarity. Like many of the other applicants, Fashion is an extension of my imagination and allows me to express myself. I am able to differentiate myself from the next person due to my eclectic view of fashion. I believe this is fantastic creative outlet. I would love to be considered for this internship. My enthusiasm is one of kind and would be a great asset to NY Fashion Week. This experience would be an unforgettable opportunity that I would cherish for years to come. Thank you for you consideration, FIJI WATER!!!! -Leslie Brock

If I can claim one thing about me to be most true, than it is that my passion for creativity defines me and all that I do. I am infatuated with color, design, boldness, chicness, and the power of true expression. Give me space and I will dance. Give me words and I will speak of this delicate culture we share. Give me fashion and I will expose my heart and soul. Give me this opportunity and not only will I leave my mark in every space, word, and glance, but I will do it with passion. I live by learning. I live in my work. Opportunities like this make the teeny tiny hairs on my neck stand tall. I have always travelled as my mum is English and my dad is American. Living in New York has always been a dream and finally here I am. Currently I'm studying public relations and television media here. I am looking to jump on every and any opportunity I can. The health of my mind is highly influenced by the health of my body. I always search for the best quality products available, such as Fiji water. All the different aspects of this internship truly motivate me and I am confident I am a perfect candidate. A big whole hearted thank you to Fiji. Not only for opportunities like this internship, but also for being a leader in green movements and donating support to important organizations such as PETA in their 25th anniversary gala.

Skipping late night organic chemistry study sessions to work LA Fashion Week in October 2008 was definitely not my usual MO. But my curiosity led me to Lightbox at Smashbox Studios and a dress rack with my model’s ‘looks.’ From then on, there was no looking back. One more season of fashion week (Rock Fashion Week, October 2009) solidified my preference for marketing, fashion and public relations over animal labs and acrylamide gels. I made gifts bags, dressed models, cleaned up after shows and multi-tasked to within an inch of my life. No job was too menial. To keep guests hydrated, I handed out bottles of Hint water one of the event’s major sponsors, and recommended some of my favorite flavors. In between perfecting the art of the furtive gawk and networking, I realized that when you love what you’re doing, it doesn’t feel like work at all. Promoting Fiji water, a brand that is part of my daily life will be both effortless and fun. I drink 1.5 liters of Fiji daily. Seriously. I should probably go right ahead and thank you all now for my great skin. But in all seriousness, I am more than willing to be a brand ambassador for Fiji during and after fashion week; just like I've always been. Now lemme at those guests!

All waters are not created equal. Just like Fiji stands out from all the rest, why not choose an intern that meets that same standard of quality? For three years now, I have worked in a customer service position at job that I have loved, being a Hot Dog on a Stick girl. My job has given me daily interaction with people and I’ve learned that the only way to make people happy is to be happy yourself. As a Fiji water intern, I bring to the table that knowledge as well as the knowledge of being of service to others. I understand that there is nothing more a patron loves than a person who is open, friendly, and having a good time while being respectful, courteous, and timely. Not only am I more than capable of completing any task given to me, I often take the initiative to do so before hand. This experience, coupled with my extreme love of fashion, ensures that I am the right person to be a Fiji Intern. Nothing would make me happier than to have the chance to be in the midst of notable and up and coming designers and models while representing and promoting a brand as green and natural as Fiji water. I’ve seen after hand accounts of past fashion weeks, and being able to see the production up close and personal would be sensational. Being in the city of New York is simply icing on the cake. As you are reviewing your candidates for the Fiji intern position, I hope that you keep me and my fun-loving professional attitude in my mind. Much, much love. Corinne Jones.
