New York Fashion Week kicked off today and the winners of the FIJI Water Fashion Week Internship contest are on the ground to keep fashion’s finest hydrated. this new experience. Meeting the other internship winners and hearing each girl’s life story was so much fun. We spent the greater portion of the morning loading and unloading a truck full of FIJI Water. My muscles definitely got a workout they’d never had before! Then it was off to learn about the ins and outs of FIJI Water and to get dressed for the show.

As a small-town Kansas girl, I was definitely out of my element once the people started arriving for the show. I’ve never seen so many beautiful stylish people in one place at one time. I tried my best to deliver my line — “Would you like some FIJI Water?” — with a smile to each guest without staring. As the show began, we were allowed to put down the water and just watch the show. And again I’m going to say WOW! I was blown away by the creativity of the designer and the elegance of the models, and blinded by the amount of flashes going off in the room.  It is amazing to see how much work goes into a show that only last ten minutes start to finish.

All in all, I think the day went well.  The guests were amply hydrated with some delicious FIJI Water, and even though my muscles were aching when I left, I still left with a smile and can’t wait for it to all start again tomorrow.
