Finishing touches are put on the culinary delights of the evening.
FIJI Water is proud to support BakitWhy.com and its co-founder (who was also our former social media MBA intern), Kaywan Shiraz.
Saturday, August 1 marked theone-year anniversary of the online Pilipino American lifestyle community BakitWhy.com. Hundreds of VIP guests flocked to Jimmy’s Lounge in Hollywood, Calif., to sample cuisine by Chef Larry Banares and indulge in the open bar sponsored by FIJI Water and Vuqo Vodka, a newcomer whose premium vodka is made from fermented coconut flowers.
Throughout the evening we were treated to performances by Justin Rivera, who used his priceless comedic timing to take us through a magical journey of not-so-magic tricks, including turning a bottle of FIJI Water into a bottle of ketchup; and Filipina singer / songwriter/ producer Ashley Robles, whose angelic voice and cutting-edge moves wowed the thirsty crowd.

Guests arrive for a night of food, music, and magic.
To lend a hand, BakitWhy used its one-year anniversary not just to celebrate but also to raise money for a cause close to their heart: Shirt the Kids, a unique T-shirt company that donates a percentage of their proceeds to provide food and clothing to children in the Philippines and the American Kids Cancer Fund. Silent auction items included one year of FIJI Water delivery, a signed copy of Dr. Kevin Nadal’s Filipino American Psychology, a skateboard by Bathala Project, a Pnoy Apparel Revolt Hoodie, an autographed BakitWhy shirt and lunch with BakitWhy.com director Jeremiah Abraham.
