It’s no secret that FIJI Water is a huge supporter of the arts, so sponsoring the prestigious Art Basel Miami Beach was a no-brainer. Not only was there a magnificent selection of top galleries throughout the four-day affair but also special exhibitions and parties that showcased architecture and music. As the sister event to the original, Swiss-based Art Basel (often called the “Olympics of the Art World”), the Miami Beach event is easily the United States’ most important art show. Since its stateside inception in 2002, the event has attracted a sophisticated and eclectic crowd, ranging from art connoisseur Steve Wynn (rumored to have purchased a Rembrandt) and buddy Sylvester Stallone to the casually dressed Lance Armstrong, who casually chatted up the crowd in a baseball cap and jeans.
More than 250 art galleries from all over the world showcased their art. Take a peek at a few standout pieces from the affair:

Crazed Lion Sculpture at Art Basel, Miami Beach
The bold colors along with the fierce expression on the lion’s face makes this piece stand out.

Photo of Stretched Woman at Art Basel, Miami Beach
No, your computer monitor settings haven’t gone wonky. This stretched-out art piece — Evan Penny‘s “Female Stretched” — was created that way. We also heard that it sold for $300,000 on opening day.

David LaChappelle’s “Archangel Michael” at Art Basel, Miami Beach
Lastly, this tribute piece was created by David LaChapelle, celebrity photographer and artist. It’s called “Archangel Michael” and isn’t a real picture of Jackson but of a lookalike.
We were thrilled to be part of this esteemed event and look forward to next year.
